Planning & Booking

How far in advance should we book an office move in the UAE?

Four to six weeks is the working minimum for most commercial moves. That window accommodates the dual-site survey, move plan, free zone documentation, and building coordination without pressure.

Specific situations that need longer lead times: DIFC, JAFZA, and ADGM free zone documentation benefits from six to eight weeks, particularly for JAFZA where customs-controlled vehicle permit processing runs on its own timeline.

Large corporate relocations of 100 or more workstations, or phased moves across multiple floors or buildings, benefit from eight to twelve weeks from survey to first move day.

Month-end moves — the last week of any month — should be booked four to six weeks ahead without exception. UAE commercial lease expirations cluster at month-end, demand for credible commercial movers peaks sharply, and availability compresses fast.

The most avoidable problem in UAE office move scheduling is booking two to three weeks out for a move that requires six weeks of preparation.

What information do you need to provide a quote?

To issue a written quote, we need to survey both premises in person or via a structured video walkthrough. A phone description or floor plan alone is not sufficient for an accurate commercial moving quote.

At the survey, we assess: total workstation count and IT density at each workstation, server room configuration and rack count, archive and document storage volume, specialist items — glass partitions, marble surfaces, AV systems, laboratory or medical equipment — access conditions at both origin and destination including goods lift dimensions, loading bay timing restrictions and truck size constraints, free zone documentation requirements if either address is in a controlled zone, and community or building management permit requirements.

The written quote produced after that survey is the number you pay. We do not issue phone estimates.

Do you move offices across all UAE emirates and free zones?

Yes. E Office Movers UAE handles commercial office relocations across all seven emirates — Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain — and all major free zones.

Free zones covered include DIFC, ADGM, DMCC/JLT, TECOM (Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Knowledge Park), JAFZA, DAFZA, SAIF Zone, Shams, Hamriya Free Zone, RAKEZ, and Fujairah Free Zone.

Each free zone has its own access portal, documentation requirements, and lead times. These are managed per zone, not treated as a generic permit process. If your origin or destination is in a free zone, the specific portal and documentation package is confirmed at the survey stage.

Do you handle international office moves?

Yes. E Office Movers UAE manages international commercial office relocations to 32+ countries. Sea freight for full office volumes, air freight for priority or time-critical shipments.

Full export documentation, UAE customs clearance, and coordination with vetted receiving partners at the destination are included.

Destination-specific customs requirements and import restrictions for commercial goods are reviewed at the survey stage and factored into the move plan and timeline.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about commercial office relocation in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE.

Q
What makes an Abu Dhabi office move different from a Dubai move?

There are three main differences: 1. Access Systems: ADGM, Masdar, and Capital Centre have unique protocols. 2. Permits: Documentation runs through TAMM or Provis Connect rather than Dubai portals. 3. The Week: Scheduling targets a Sunday morning "ready-to-work" status, accounting for the Abu Dhabi Sunday-Thursday business week.

Q
How does ADGM office relocation work?

ADGM moves require advance notification to ADGM Building Management. This involves vehicle/insurance approval, security registration for crews, and tower-specific loading bay scheduling. We manage this independently of TAMM, ensuring compliance with ADGM’s specific regulatory framework.

Q
What is the TAMM NOC process for commercial buildings?

The move-in NOC is processed through the building's Facilities Management team using TAMM or dedicated portals like Provis Connect (for Aldar properties). This requires trade licenses, vehicle registration, and insurance certificates. We manage these submissions with the required 5-business-day lead time.

Q
Do you handle moves to and from Masdar City?

Yes. Masdar City requires advance vehicle access authorisation from City Operations. Additionally, all packing materials must comply with Masdar’s strict sustainability requirements. We coordinate both access approval and material compliance as part of your move plan.

Q
How far in advance should we book an Abu Dhabi move?

We recommend 4 to 6 weeks for standard offices, and 8 to 12 weeks for large corporate moves. ADGM and Provis-managed buildings have strict processing lead times. Booking early ensures all access documentation is cleared before your targeted Sunday morning start.

Q
What areas of Abu Dhabi do you cover?

We cover all commercial zones including Al Maryah Island (ADGM), Al Reem, Khalifa City, Capital Centre, Masdar, Mussafah, and central Abu Dhabi (Hamdan/Corniche). We also handle inter-emirate moves between Abu Dhabi and Dubai with the same crew from start to finish.

Q
What if the new premises are not ready yet?

Your assets transfer directly into our climate-controlled corporate storage. There is no re-inventory or handover to 3rd parties, maintaining the PDPL-compliant chain of custody. We provide staged delivery by floor or department as your new fit-out completes.
